Traffic violations and e-challans, answered.
What is an intelligent traffic management system (ITMS)?
An ITMS detects traffic violations on city cameras and issues e-challans automatically. Krypton ITMS covers red-light and speed violations, helmet, triple riding, seatbelt, phone use, wrong way and parking, with ANPR and a central control-centre dashboard.
Which traffic violations does Krypton ITMS detect?
Red-light violation (RLVD), speed violation (SVD), section speed, no helmet and pillion helmet, triple riding, no seatbelt, mobile phone use, wrong-way driving, lane discipline, no parking, stopping on the zebra crossing and jaywalking.
How are e-challans issued?
ANPR reads the number plate, owner and licence details come from NIC Vahan and Sarathi, an operator reviews and approves the violation, and the challan is generated automatically with encrypted image and video evidence. Challans can also be delivered on WhatsApp.
Does Krypton ITMS work on existing CCTV cameras?
Yes, where the existing cameras allow it. ITMS is modular, so a city can start with only the violations and junctions it needs and add more later.
What else does Krypton ITMS include beyond challans?
Vehicle counting and classification (ATCC), incident detection, highway monitoring (TMCS), speed display boards (VASD), variable message signs, public address, emergency call boxes, a field-officer app and an open API.
