What is an adaptive traffic control system (ATCS)?
An adaptive traffic control system sets traffic signal timings from live traffic instead of fixed timers. Krypton ATCS optimises green times at every junction in real time and coordinates junctions into green waves.
Does Krypton ATCS need new cameras or sensors?
No. It runs on existing CCTV cameras and signal poles, and also works with radar or loop detectors. Decisions are made by edge controllers at each junction, in milliseconds.
Is Krypton ATCS built for Indian traffic?
Yes. It is built in India for mixed-lane traffic, including two-wheelers, rickshaws and tempos, on Krypton’s own adaptive signal technology (patent applied).
Can ATCS give priority to ambulances and VIP movement?
Yes. It detects ambulances and fire tenders and clears the junction, runs planned green corridors for VIP movement and special events, and gives buses priority at signals.
