Edge AI Box, answered.
What is an Edge AI Box or LPU?
An Edge AI Box, or local processing unit (LPU), is a computer at the junction or site that runs AI on camera feeds locally. Krypton pre-configures its AI engines on it, so detection happens on site in real time.
Which hardware does the Krypton Edge AI Box use?
Krypton AI is pre-configured on NVIDIA Jetson, Intel or Qualcomm edge hardware, or on edge boxes you already own, with rugged fanless, wide-temperature, IP-rated options for junction cabinets.
What happens when the network goes down?
The box keeps detecting and recording locally, then sends everything to the command centre once the link is back (store-and-forward). Recordings can also be exported over USB for evidence.
Can the LPU be used for ITMS red-light and speed enforcement?
Yes. The junction LPU takes radar and signal inputs for red-light (RLVD) and speed (SVD) violation detection, and its relays can trigger boom barriers, sirens and hooters.
